With it the start of July, I would like to plan a G2G for either Lake Winn or Sunapee in August.

Several years ago, Bob D hosted this event and it was a great day. We did it during the week, either 2nd or 3rd week of August to stay away from the fasties!

Which lake is your preference?

How does Wed the 13th or the 20th strike you?

We are up for this trip. The 13th works for us. Lake Winnipesaukee still has a lot of towns to visit and interesting places to wonder through, like we did through "Hole in the Wall" last time.

Even though Sunapee is a lot farther for me to travel (300 mi. vs 160 mi. R/T), Brant has been very patient for a G2G.

We've been on Sunapee once, but not with our Montauk. Hopefully Brant will be available. Summer seems to be his busy time. The date will probably have to be set by him, to fit his work schedule. I agree he's been real patient with trying to host a group on Sunapee. We'll go with whatever the consensus agrees to.

Looking forward to seeing you again. Have you heard from Vink lately? I haven't seen much from him this season.

Any plans on the day in the Great Bay this summer?

I have been informed NH now requires a boaters permit. This has gotten me a bit miffed.

I only want to drive 4 hours, RT to spend 5 hours on a NH lake once a year, yet they want me to learn about the workings of a Personal Water Craft so I can have a permit? I hate those damn things!

(Let's not get into a debate on the merits of the permit or PWC here.)

I am debating the status of my attendance for this trip. No reflection on you Bob, Brant, Barry, Larry et al. Will let you know at the end of my deliberations.

Hey CBO, I heard the fine is only $60 and they don't stop you to check unless they stop you for something else. Maybe take the chance? I'm considering it in a couple weeks since a bunch of high school buddies will be on the lake the day of our high school reunion. I'm considering dragging the boat up. Think I'll get laughed at with a 25-Revenge on the lake?

Is a Safe Boating Certificate from another state that requires one such as CT acceptable, or do you need to have a separate NH cert?

They accepted the Connecticut card. They wouldn't give me a carbon copy for my collection so I got the picture,Six boardings thusfar this year USCG New Haven Ct.,Marine Patrol Hempstead N.Y., USCG Aux. Mystic,Ct. Marine Patrol Pt.Jefferson,New York,Ct D.E.P. Lake Candlewood,Ct. and now New Hampshire all boardings end up as a question and answer session of the Ribside. Last year saw seven !

The NH Boaters Certificate requirement goes beyond just the lakes. Look at the last part of this webpage

The law says it's needed to operate a boat in "NH public waters". It seems strange that they might include the Atlantic Ocean as NH Public Waters.
