Besides the 8" (Red Jacket) vs. 4" (Red Jacket Supreme) bend radius, is there any difference in the performance of these two cables?
Both types were installed on the Guardian 20. Red Jacket to the starboard engine and Supreme to port. All 4 seem to be in fair condition but since everything is dismantled I'll replace them all but would like to know what the members here would recommend, especially since this is a relatively new area for me.
Is the difference in bend radius important for this installation?
Since the console is being moved aft roughly 20" I plan on going with 19 and 17 foot cables instead of the 20 and 18 footers that were in place.
Here is the pricing from Go2 Marine:
33C Red-Jacket Cable - 17 ft - 032377-003-204 $37.84 x 2 = $75.68
33C Red-Jacket Cable - 19 ft - 032377-003-228 $39.60 x 2 = $79.20
$154.88
33C Supreme Cable - 17' - 301947-003-204 $46.80 x 2 = $93.60
33C Supreme Cable - 19' - 301947-003-228 $49.18 x 2 = $98.36
$191.96
The price difference for the 4 cables would be about $40 dollars for the set which isn't that much but it would pay for something else if it can be saved here.
Any advice is appreciated.
