Anyone out there used the new volvo QL trim system on 22 ft or longer? I would like some advice on cable routing through the transom. Thanks.

I have never heard of a new Volvo trim system. Perhaps you could describe it to us and/or provide a URL to a description of it.

It is not a drive trim system but rather what Volvo calls a vevolutianary alternate to trim tabs. Don't know what the pricing is but from Volvo it's not going to be cheap.
I just called Volvo, the systems start at $669.95.

The Volvo trim system was recently reviewed in DIY magazine. I like the idea of no hose or reservoir to store on the boat, along with a clean transom. My worry is that I wont be able to pull the cable from the backside of the interceptor unit to an area in witch I can retrieve it. My boat is an 89 22 ft Revenge cuddy.
Thanks.

I have read about this system, but the problem is how to route the cables, which come out of the back side of the units. There is a lot of foam to bore through on the Outrage in that location, and it would wind up below the floor, near the stern sumps. If you could fabricate a spacer out of stainless steel or Starboard, the cables could be routed up the transom. It would be interesting to hear what Volvo thinks about that idea.

Thanks for the reply, why hasn’t Volvo anticipated the need for a connector on top? It seems like common sense to me. I will contact Volvo and post there reply.
