The only time I have that problem is after I clear my cache and temp internet files. Other than that, no problem

Ed,

Make sure your first login is into http://www.whalercentral.com
The www must be there or every time you go to a different page, it will ask you to login again.

When you login the to the link above, make sure you put a check mark in the box "Remember Me".

As ioptfm mentions, cookies play a role and remember you. If you clear your cookies for WhalerCentral, then you would have to login again. I don't know how long the cookie is set to last but I know it is several months maybe even longer.

No problem here Ed. It's been a real pleasure since the server changeover.

It sounds just like I describe above.

Any link you click on will take you to www.whalercentral.com

So, it sounds like you are not logging into www.whalercentral.com in the beginning.
You are probably logging into whalercentral.com without the www.....

I continue to have this problem (on the old server and the new one). I log in, and it shows I'm logged in on the right side of the site, then I go to hit the discussion board. When I click the discussion board, it loggs me out and I have to start all over.

We cannot reproduce this....

No one has given me an answer on which page they login on.... ?????

Login to this link, and then click on the discussion board....
http://www.whalercentral.com

If you get logged out after performing the above 2 steps, then please let us know.

So far egerrity and davidk are the only 2 people that seem to have this problem so we need to know which address you two are logging into when you login....

OK,

Which discussion boards link?
"Discussion Areas" in the sub header?
Or another link somewhere else?

The left side blue "discussion Areas" link

Ed,

That link on the left sidebar is NOT clickable.
That "Discussion Areas" menu pulls out on the right side which then makes the pull out menu items clickable. So I am not sure which link you are clicking on.

Have your tried the red link above that which is the sub header menu?
Try the "Discussion Areas" in the sub header menu which is in red color. See if it still happens.

Ed,

No problem... If there is a problem we want to know about it.

Unfortunately we cannot reproduce this problem. It's like taking your car to the mechanic and it runs just fine so he doesn't know what to fix.

Sounds like it is something with your network at work or possibly computer settings or maybe a proxy server in there somewhere.

When I log onto the home page, it shows that I am logged off. However when I click on a discussion page I see that I am logged on. Then I will hit the home button and it shows that I am logged off until I click on another discussion topic.

Hope this helps.

Cliff,

It sounds like you are having the normal issue of whatever you call the "Home Page"..

This link will not work properly after you sign in:
http://whalercentral.com
Again, this link will NOT work properly.
Check to see if that is the address you have in the address bar when you are logged in or out.

This is the correct link for our Home Page to work properly with all the rest of our links.
http://www.whalercentral.com
You must have the www in front of whalercentral.com address or you will be logged off when moving around the site. It's just the way PHP Fusion works....

Hi Joe.

The Home page I am refering to is in the upper left hand corner of your website, just above the Navigation column. I've always used www.whalercentral.com. What I refered to above has happened to me again this morning.

Thanks.

Cliff

Joe,

I log in on this site.... http://www.whalercentral.com/forum/index.php

but when I go to any of the discussion areas, that's when I get logged out. Funny thing is, it doesn't happen every time.

The only other thing I can think of is your cookies.

Is your browser set to accept cookies? or do you have cookies set to never accept?

David -

Erase your whalercentral cookies and start again.

I really don't think it is a cookies issue. I am set to accept cookies. I have gone through and erased them all (I do on occasion), but there seems to be no correlation to getting logged out and when I go and erase cookies. I also don't think it is a security level issue. Remember, this happens every copuple of days (and I'm in the site every day) and all my settings stay the same. I clear my cookies, history and cache about once every two weeks.
