After getting rooked on a purchase of a 78 revenge that was completely misrepresented, I finally received word that under the ebay vehicle protection policy my claim was approved and my original purchase price will be completely refunded as the estimates for repair exceeded the sale price. I signed over my claim against the seller to Auction Insurance Agency and they may or may not pursue him for the money. So instead of having a revenge that was ready to go, I now own a decent project boat. Thanks for all the helpful comments concerning the repair. If anyone is having a similar experience feel free to contact me as i am pretty well versed in this process. Paypal will not help you. There is no benefit that I can see by using them. Ebay motors VPP was what ultimately saved me.

I would really be interested in hearing a lot more details as to how you got screwed, got to refunded, etc. I make a lot of purchases on EBAY, never had a problem, but of course that can change at any moment

Glad the Vehicle Protection Policy worked for you as the rest of Ebay and PayPal's buyer protection programs are quite poor to say the least.

I had trouble with Ebay and PayPal. I don't use Ebay but am annoyed at how many sites force me to use PayPal.
It is great to hear that you were able to make things right.
With me, the time and agrivation of dealing with a ripoff is worth so much money, that nothing can make it right.
