Thank you all for your in put, it really did help me a great deal.
I took my whaler/ 70 hp yamaha back to the same authorized dealer, Ronnie's Marine. As one of you suggested, I wrote down every symptom the motor was having and at what rpm. I sat down with the service manager, Max and went over the list. I also insisted that he go run the boat off of the trailer because the symptoms don't happen backed into the test tank, only under way.
After he ran it, he definitely had a better idea how to diagnose the problem.
Many of you were right, low speed carb jets needed cleaning. Also there was a ground wire on one of the coils that was loose. Ronnies marine in Aransas Pass Tx.
and their service manager, Max, are great!
I've only had the motor for a year, since I wasn't real familiar with it I didn't realize it was was not only vibtating like crazy, it wasn't running like it should.
This is a different motor now. It's great!!
Also, one of you suggested that I tilt the motor to damped the vibration. That ia a great suggestion. It normally has that one point where the 3 cyl vibrates some. Raising the motor up takes it almost out.
Whaler Central is a fantasic resource!, I'm glad to be a member and again, Thanks to all of you that gave me input.

Tim,
Glad to hear your Yamaha is running fine now. My faith in Ronnie's has been restored. Let's go fishing in Rockport some time.
