I need a center console seat for my 17 Katama and was wondering if it is still possible to order a full Montauk flip seat through Whaler. I know this is not what Katamas had, but it would still fit the boat really well. Trying to piece it together from EBAY seems almost if not more expensive than perhaps buying a new one.
Anyone have any thoughts? Do not really care for some of the non-whaler flip seats that are out there. Thought about combining an cushioned Igloo cooler and building a base and back for it, but then where does the gas tank go??

Yes, you can still buy a teak backed RPS from Whaler but it will have black, not brown, Z-legs and will have white plastic rod holders, not the custom stainless steel ones.
I believe the price is around $1,400.
Katamas made after 1973 did use the RPS.
