Hi Guys,
I'm restoring an old Whaler. No interior wood so I'm fabricating it but I also need to add a steering system. Before I start the console, I'd like to know which system would be best in this application. Specifically, what size/length should the control cable be? I'm thinking 9' but I'm not 100% sure.
Any help would be great! Thanks!

Is your boat a 15" or 20" transom? If a 15" transom you need a stand
off bracket on the stern. It might be better to go with cable and pulley steering/

Sorry, I should have clarified. It's an older whaler but I've built up the transom to accomodate my 20" outboard.

if you have built up the transom, then go with standard teleflex NF and measure according to their instruction.
