I have a 1975 with a 1987 40hp Johnson. Any guesses on what the boat, motor, battery, and 6 gallons of gas weigh? I have a 1,000 lb davit lift and want to make sure I am ok.

Your boat should weigh about 325lbs, if it is dry, and I think your motor weighs in at about 175. Then whatever else is in the boat. You should be fine.

Thanks for the posts. I was guessing 300 boat, 200lb engine, & 100 lb gas and battery. There could be some water weight but the boat still sits decent in the water.
