I bought a 1991, 27 Whaler Walk Around just like Cap't Billy's Toy Too, back in December 2007. She has a set of brand new, 2005 Evinrude 250HP E-Techs with 175 hours, and is running 14.75 x 19 props. The boat has spent most of it's life in the Bahamas with overall poor quality work done on her, but I have been cleaning her up over the last 5 months to get her where I need her for the 2008 season, but I am now facing the surprise of poor fuel economy with the E Techs on my first 2 fishing trips. She has averaged .75 nautical Miles Per Gallon, instead of the 1.25-1.5 that I was expecting. I am normally a Yamaha four stroke guy, as I love the F225 I have on my 25' Revenge that gets 1.75-2 NMPG consistently. I know the E Techs are pushing more weight, but should be perfroming much better than this. I have had the fuel tanks polished, cleaned and old fuel removed, use on the best grade fuel and the top of the line BRP XD100 Oil.
I am working closely with BRP Evinrude and the local SD Evinrude dealer to dial in on the correct adjustments needed, but am open to anyone's opinion. At $5/gallon for gas at the dock, the last 2 trips have run me $600 each, plus on our last trip we lost 2 Threshers that were hooked off of La Jolla, and they are going off right now, but I am currently out of the game dangit. At least until I get this remedied. I am also estimating the total weight of the boat with all fuel & Equipment to be around 11,500#, sound in the ballpark?
The motors are currently mounted on the 3rd top mounting hole and I suspect they may need to come up one more mounting hole and also look at the possibility of trying a set of 15.75 x 19 props as well.
If anyone knows Cap't Billy's contact info., please pass my question to him. I know he just installed a set of twin 300HP HPDI Yahamas on his 27 Whaler Walk Around. Here is my contact info. for anyone who can help suggest a remedy please.

JEFF, JOE, MIKE or TOM, please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions, assistence or recomendations.
