Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Dash Panels

Hi all,

Does any have leads on where to get black dash panels. I would like to add a few gauges and would prefer to mount them on a panel vs individual holes in the dash. Of course I understand that I would have cut one large hole... ;)

I am not sure of the size of the panel . A guess would be a 12 inches square plus or minus an inch or so. Could already be cut out for gauges or blank.

Today: only 1 multifunction gauge

Hope to add: Speedo, Temp or pressure, gas gauge, maybe voltage...

Also a fish finder.

Thx

Jon -

Any chance you can take and post a photo of your console area? This would help us "over-your-shoulder" helpers provide our opinions.

:p

Thanks,

I have several of the gauges already. I would prefer an aluminum panel but if plastic is what is available, so be it...:o

Attached is picture, you will see that it is a very spartan dash. The panel may be more of a 10 x 12 rectangle. I did not plan to move the switches as they were mounted very low on the console, so they stay as is.

Thanks

Jon -

On CW there was a thread concerning adding gauges to a panel on a Montauk 170. With a lot of input, the members "helped" design the layout. See this thread

Maybe we could do that for you? :D

seabob,

There is a huge interest in original instrument panels for the classic Outrages, Revenges, and Montauks.

I made quite a few replacement panels and am all sold out.

I never did get the white stripe like original so it would be nice if Ultra Panel could reproduce the original panels.

The drawings are in the download section.

Seabob - Yes, it is for Rich. He told me, yesterday, that the dealer should be finished with the work (?) next week.

Thanks all, This panel will be slightly different the standard ones I have seen on the site. I do not think any of the Super Sport models had a dash panel, but I may be wrong. .. The SS limited had Dual consoles, a bit different than the Montauk.

Seabob, Yes I would be interested. I can design a template of what I am thinking. I assume you can cut the holes as well. Please PM me and we can sort the details.

2 larger Gauges on top, w/ 2 or 3 smaller on the bottom. The Fish finder would be mounted on the surface on top right.

Thanks again

Jon

"Jon,
Would you be interested in a 10" X 12" black aluminum panel from Ultra Panel that had the Whaler pin-stripping around the perimeter with the Whaler logo at the bottom? Probably wouldn't be more than $50-60"

All, In case anyone is interested...

Below is is picture of my new dash panel. Came out great with the exception of the switches being jambed together a bit to close...:o

Next small challenge will be to install a fuel gauge sensor in a 28 Gal plastic Tempo tank...

Thanks to all for the ideas.

Jon -

Looks great!

Was the panel sourced from Boston Whaler or was it custom?

The primary contact was Anna at Ultra Panel. I never actually spoke with Ivo.

I added a before and after picture of the dash on my page. Striking difference...B)
