At 11:00 this AM I'll kick off the season !:D It's the day when I'll find out how it all works together, the hydralics feel great in the driveway, the engine is way up high hanging out on a Jackplate with a big old Mercury Offshore 4 Blade. The port saddle tank that took water via the vent last year is full again so I'll be able to doulbe my range which is scarey as last year saw 3065 miles pass under the keel. The shake down cruise will take the boat to the East cross Long Island Sound ,lunch at Mattituck New York and home in time to meet the bus. The addition of the Jackplate was not so much for speed but for improving fuel economy, Smartcraft gauges will hopefully validate this effort. I'll post preformance results later.

Jim, glad to hear your getting out and i know my brother that lives in Colechester is doing likewise. Sounds like a great kickoff cruise, and i plan on contacting you to hook up when i head back up to CT. Don't know exactly when, but should be doing something in July or early Aug. Enjoy the day and let us know how it all worked out! Surprised your not getting froggy and cruisin that baby on over to BI! :p

The boat handles completely different with a jackplate, smooth, more trim control, hydralic steering can't be described in words ! New sweet spot is 32 MPH with a 5.2 GPH burn ! Mission accomplished ! Duf, come on anytime, Jim

Your boat looks great -- is the top side painted or original gel-coat? I am working on my newest project and trying to research the Awlgrip paint. I would love to find out how it holds up. I think I will post a question to the community to find out ... B)

My gel-coat is all original, contact JohnW from the other site, he's got Awlgrip on an old Outrage.

Plans are subject to change when there's kids involved, originally planned to launch at 11:00 AM, put in at 9 as pre-K was cancelled ! drove around till 2 then home to the bus stop right on time. Last year in Mattituck, I forget the name was a Red place with a deck just inside on the left.
