Hey was wondering if anyone has any feedback on the idea of moving the consul on the 20 outrage forward so that the cooler gets push up against the step. as it sits now there is about 1 ft. of room between the front of the cooler and the step. not quite enough room to put your foot. this would also give more room in the aft.

kurt,

On my prior 1989 Outrage 20, there was only a couple of inches from the cooler to the small step.
The cooler cleats almost touched the step so there is no way I could have moved my console forward.
Most coolers these days are the Igloo Marine 94 qt which is what mine was. What cooler do you have?

Thanks joe I see the boat we have has a different cooler and does not have the original cooler cleats. I think we shall make new cooler cleats and get the larger cooler.

Kurt,

Sounds like you are doing the job correctly.

The drawings for the cooler cleats are in the downloads section.
Most all of the Outrages with Standard Consoles use the Igloo Marine 94 qt cooler. This would also include the Classic Montauks as they use the same standard console.

You can buy a new cushion from Hall's Nautical or Dave's Upholstery if you want the original style and color of cushion.
