Purchased the Petroplastic replacement gasket for the glass last fall...and finally installed it today!:)
Yes...it reached 65 ....:p
It fit's beautifully...looks fab...much needed!
I purchased the 17' piece as recommended...but have 7-1/2' left over:o
If you're considering replacing your gaskets...you only need 10'!

Yup...mine worked great too...but I about wore the skin off my hands getting it to roll in there.

Must be the 'in' thing to do! Did mine as well. The extra footage can come in handy in case of a mistake but I agree the 17 feet is way too much. I used a rubber mallet and a wooden pot holder (long and thin) to 'tap' it in place. Two people doing the job is better than one. One does the tapping and the other holds the gasket flat on the glass (it has a mind of it's own at the corners). If you've recently varnished the windshield frame get a putty knife and clean out the goove where the gasket fits.

Log in Petroplastics.com...
Ask for Bill Gathercole...great guy!
Basic package:.... 17' of original gasket material...$3.75/ft....
Put a tiny bead of 50 year clear silicon on the receiving wood...set the glass...and use a pushem stick....wore my hands raw....but it really set the barbed gasket into the slot....it sucks in tight to the glass when set.....figured it'd probably survive the next 45....sure looks better....
Neat stuff....:D
What yer lookin at is the old stuff...and Dad, nephew Aiden, brother Peter, Mom...looks like Rosebud's hunkered down behind the windshield!;)

I was too afraid to tap it with anything. I thought I might break the glass....man did that hurt my hands pushing that thing in there.....came out great though.
