Is Permatex High Tack Gasket sealant an acceptable substitute for OMC Adhesive Sealant M?

Application is the driveshaft o-ring between the water pump liner and housing, and the big o-ring between the water pump housing and the impeller plate.

I read somewhere that Boat Armor 1000 is an acceptable substitute but I can't find that anywhere.

Try an automotive 3M distributor or dealer and ask for #847 Scotch-Grip rubber and gasket adhesive

or

Any marine dealer, professional, or supply store can order the Boat Armour Sealer 1000 from their suppliers.

They are all one and the same as Type M
