Guys,

I bought the Standard Horizon ECLIPSE DSC

And I plan to use the Econo Rail Mount

Can someone recommend a 3ft antenna that isn't too expensive that will work good for my 1984 Outrage20?

Roger,

I just bought a Uniden UM525BK and plan to use a Shakespeare 5241R on a Shakespeare 4190 Railmount. I had the same antenna and rail mount on my 22 and was very happy with it.

I use the Shakespeare which works good for what I need. I'm not positive on which model.

I have also used this rail mount on most all of my Whalers.

You can see the above mounted on my Outrage 18'.

BTW I bought the radio from Defender's marine supply and they are having their yearly wareshouse sale. Every thing with the big WS next to it is on sale but you have to click "add to cart" and check your cart to see the sale price.

The unit was $143.00. That beat every other price by a long shot and I have always gotten great service when ordering for them. They are up in Waterford Connecticut which is not to far in a straight line from you Roger but I bet driving it would be a good drive.

Thanks guys. :D
I ordered the 5241R antenna and the 4190 ratchet.
When I asked about this before, most people recommended 8' antennas. But I saw a post by Joe saying he used a 3'.
I didn't want to deal with a 8' and my new canvas and I fugured a 3' would be good enough for my Outrage20 since I doubt I'll ever be more than a couple miles offshore.
Too late for me to order the Uniden Jeff, but that looks like a nice one and I bet you did a lot of research about it.
