Estamos dudando entre un Suzuki 200hp EFI o el Evinrude 150hp E-tec, por el tipo de navegacion que practicamos muy cerca de costa pensamos que un solo motor es suficiente. ¿Piensan que la diferencia de potencia es suficiente como para pensar en poner Suzuki o por el contrario la tecnologia E-tec puede ser suficiente para decidirnos por Evinrude?

Abe,
I think it your close to shore a singe is fine. Why limit yourself to the Evinrude 150, when the 200HP is the same weight? You should compare engines and prices for the same HP. The Suzuki 200 will always be faster than a 150 of any brand and probably use more gas. Choices for me are as follows,
1. Dealer Support
2. engine weight
3. price

The Evinrudes are good engines, I am very happy with mine and I have a good dealer support in my area if I need it.

Thanks Kamie, I have two engines in service to my city, in terms of price is the same for the two engines so the difference hp, we also believe that 200hp is our best option.

I agree with Kamie, buy the 200. I have an old 200 Suzuki two stroke. I am happy with its performance.

Upon edit:

I did not notice that your boat had the Whalerdrive with twin engines. I think a 200 will be OK, but a little more power would be better with the Whalerdrive. I understand that the additional hull surface of the Whalerdrive makes the 22 ride even nicer than a non-Whalerdrive hull, but also adds additional drag, hence the higher horsepower rating of the hull.

I would not power that boat with any thing less than a 200. But a 225 or 250 would be preferred.

Your 22' Whaler Drive model is rated for 300 HP.
That's why you have twin 140 hp now which gives you 280 hp.

I think you have these 3 choices roughly.
1. A pair (2) of 150 hp engines
2. A single 225 hp engine
3. A pair (2) of 115 hp engines
