I have a 15' Super sport and want to put a Bimini top on it....Where is the best (cheapest) place to order a top? Is putting a bimini top on difficult? Also, all the railings on my boat have been removed prior to my purchase .Are "used rails" best to buy on the web?

Hey Mike,
I went to www.Iboats.com and bought the Bimini top there. Here are the exact specs of my top right off of the invoice: 4663S Sharkskin Top & Boot (Shark Blue). Also used a Deck Mount 7001-D 24" Length sliding rail.
Check out my personal page and you'll see how it looks on my BW.

Thanks! I saw your personal page, you really did a good job! Was the Bimini top easy to install? Also, exactly what is the 7001-D 34" deckmount for.

Hi Mike.
Thanks. The 7001-D 24" deck mount is a sliding rail that mounts to the boat and the Bimini tops mounts to it. Simply put, if you want to move the top fore or aft on the boat, this slide mount will allow you to do so. In hind sight, for my small boat, I really didn't need the slide mount as the top is more than big enough to provide the coverage I needed. I would not have bought the slide mount if I could have seen a boat like mine with the top installed. Hope this helps.

Mike,
I passed that idea for the slide on to Cliff before using it. I agree with him. There's no need for the slide on such a small craft.

Ya, it was moose who originally gave me the specs for my top. Oh, BTW, I couldn't be more happier with the top and it's a great addition to the boat, especially in this North Texas summer sun.

When you have your top down ,does it rest on the bow or stern?

In my opinion, E-Bay is the cheapest place to get a bimini top. Make sure you get one with 4 bows. Measure the width of your boat, and buy one near that width. figure out how much height you want. they are real easy to install. Just determine where you want it to lay when its down. Also get a boot. They are not much more.
