I am currently undertaking this project on my '87 Montauk which I purchased last summer. I've decided to remove all the old varnish (used Citristrip spray and worked impressively well, heat gun didn't cut it). Light sanding with 120 grit. And using a product called TeaQua that I am really excited about as I love the look of a nice teak oil but want greater longevity between touch ups. This is a formulated teak oil with a sealer and it is superb.:)
