This past Tuesday brought in a new chapter in my life and a new friend to share the Whaler with.
Quinton Reece Rohlfing
6lbs 11.6oz
I am really looking forward to passing the joy of the water on to him just as my father did for me, and his father did for him.
Thanks to everyone who has sent emails concerning the well being of my family in the past couple days. It is appreciated. I did not mean to make it sound dire when I replied to Whalerdan's post where he was looking for me.

Jeff -
Congratulations again. Great photo, must get his great looks from Erin! LOL
Lisa and I were just talking about you and we realized that the 1st year is easy, second year also not so bad till they start to walk. Once they walk AND talk, it goes downhill fast! Enjoy this as much as you can. Remember V day is coming up and she deserves a good gift!
It's a good thing you have a turn key boat!

YEA ! welcome to the world of Diapers, and Formula, now I'll have someone to talk to at 4 am on "w/c" when "Marcy" (6 mos.) gets up (note time stamp on post's), I know what you mean, these are "Whaler Kids", they don't know how "Fortunate" they are,....when people say "Congrats" on the baby, say what I said... "It was easy, they sell books on it ya know".......Glad all are well !

Thanks all for the kind words. Really, I mean it. I know he is just 5 days old now but I can not image my live with out him. What a whirl wind of a week.
Phil, I am glad we talked a while ago. I tried to take as many chances I could to just sleep in. Thanks for that advice.
MW, I have a feeling late night WC visits will be in my future as well. See you at 4am.
Take care,
Jeff

Congratulations!!! What a joy! Your life has DEFINITELY changed. Your joy and sorrow have exponentially increased! My boys are 30 and 35, and my daughter is 2. She's in my avatar. She loves to go out in the whaler and it's such a joy to see the huge smile on her face on the water. I wish you all the best in boating and life.

My youngest just turned 3 and is already saying he wants to go fishing. The first couple years it does NOT happen -- but groom them right and you will have a reason to get out on the water every weekend. CONGRATS!

Congrats on the new addition...it won't be long before you'll be hearing, "Dad, can I have the keys to the Whaler?"
These are the good times, make some memories and enjoy the ride...it's the best show in town!

...and in the true spirit of people giving advice that you never wanted to hear.....put him in a life jacket this spring and get him on the boat. He won't be too young. Mine is 3 now and was on the boat at 5 months (born in November). She now gets excited to see and be on boats. If she sees a rope on the ground she tells me its a line for the boat.
Kids are priceless.
