Does anyone know the weight of a 2002 Honda 90 hp.
Considering a Montauk with one - is it too much weight on the back??
Thanks,
Pilot

I estimate that engine is 393 lbs.
While the boat will show the effects, there are many owners with this engine and really like it. You may want to shift your load a bit forward to counter the engine.
What gear, passenger load do you have most of the time. How many batteries in the boat and where are they?

Usually just me & my wife - some dive gear etc.
Not sure about the batteries & location etc. - I've been looking for a Montauk or small outrage . . . this is just a montauk is advertised for sale

Assuming a single battery in the stern and dive tanks forward of the console
(in the place of the cooler) you should be fine.
If you are still concerned, you can move the battery forward and into the console with a little bit of work. Many owners do this.
I know a Montauk owner (Chuck) who dives and carries a lot of gear.
Here is a link to his boat
This help?

As I have been going back and forth on this weight issue, keep in mind that the engine weight is minus prop and oil. Add in approximately 20 pounds for them and you are at 413 pounds. I'm not saying that is too heavy, you just may want to keep it in mind.

Thanks - all very helpful perspective. I'm thinking that appox. 400 lbs. is more than I'd like on the back.
