I think you answered your own question by saying "I searched the old threads".........

I guess I should keep searching the threads. Is that a yes on improvements. I hope so because I prefer the idea of the Etec motor, over a standard 2 cycle motor.

I haven't heard of any recent problems with the 60 E-Tec.
For more info, visit this site as they are dedicated to OMC/BRP motors.

Like any support sites, try and remember this. Most people aren't there to say their motors are good, they are reporting problems and looking for advice.
It's like visiting a hospital.
There are only sick people in a hospital.
This doesn't mean that all the people in the world are sick................... :)

All i'm going to add is 225 ETEC A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
I'm over 250 hours and not a a problem. I know thats early but have heard many folks with a lot less with a lot more problems. Like my buddy with his 2006 225 Optimax that just fired a piston in the power head and Mecury replaced the head, but didn't pay the labor. Cost my bud about a thousand.
And i might add, he has a 21 or 22 triton, and he said he was cruising (he's a semi-pro fisher guy) full blast when the same boat blew by him with a 225 ETEC on it.
nough said

And, it seems, now you can have the E-Tec 60 HP in white, which is nice! :D
