Hello, I found an engine locally that I am looking at tomorrow. He thinks its a 1999 Looped charged Evinrude 115 with OIS. The model # is missing off the transom bracket and it also had a new powerhead installed 5 years ago. It does not have VRO he says? Can you get a 99 without VRO? It has tilt/trim. Also what is OIS and are these reliable engines. Thanks for any input. Here is a link to his ad. This would be for my Montauk (I know 100hp is the max.) http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/boa/552622051.html

The VRO (VRO) had a name change to Oil Metering System (OMS).
I would do a little research on BRP's Online Parts Catalog.
Look at all the parts and find out what they call the parts these days.
