The seller says it is a 20' Whaler with a Transport design?
Any clues on this? I am going to look at it Saturday and post pictures to get Yall's advise (Yall is Texan for yous guys)

What else did the seller tell you? "Transport design" means nothing.

It is
NOT a Whaler it is a splashed whaler hull.
Transport Boats
If there is no stencil number and the HIN # does not start with BWC it is not a whaler.

It is made just a little south from here and yes it is a splash hull. I am told that he makes pretty good fishing boats.

I am told, If you what a Whaler buy the real thing. Nothing else will have the quality, style, nor resale revalue that follows the brand. But that is just an Opinion.

It is a boat built in Palacios, TX by the Tran family. Mr. Tran used to build big shrimpin' boats and then branched out. His first design was vvverrrrry similar to the more popular Gulf Coast brand boats, which was in turn,
rumored to be a Whaler design that was not produced and the molds sold(??). The Tran Sports were priced way below that of the Gulf Coast boats and they started to get a toehold in the market. You see Tran Sports (in many configurations) all over the coast now and they are also used by many law enforcement agencies. In the mid 90's, I toured the small barn where Mr. Tran first started his business. Today, they are a quality boat but are not a Whaler nor have I ever uncovered any data that they or any other hull originated from a Whaler design. If it is a tunnel design, they slide in a turn that would make a World of Outlaws quarter miler jealous. A friend of mine runs a 220 Gulf Coast with a 200 Merc and every time he turns I am waiting to high side and flip. That being said, they are still a quality hull and will run as skinny as you dare. Looking at their add, the 18-22 footers aren`t tunnels, they look similar to Whaler`s Lo-Pro

Trans are a dime a dozen down here. I live about 20 miles from the builder. He offers many different hull designs. Well built boat that will last a long time, but its not a Whaler.
