i finally bought the boat i've been looking for. a 15 whaler, 1988. i tore the thing apart, part's flying into the trash. i want to fix this boat till it's perfect. then i want to ride around cape may....checking my reflection in the water. ok i'm done. but just to let you know thanks for all the info on here. i decided to take all the part's to a plating company in phila. frankford plating........i cant wait to get them back. the old part's are so cool. i'm glad i didnt chuck them and buy new. just the bow light is worth it. it cost about 200 to 300 to do it all. that's a pretty good. and that gal at twin cities marine was a real nice salesperson. bought a new rub rail from her and she could not have been nicer. it was only like a hundred dollars.......she acted like i spent a hundred grand! but i did tell her the packers would not beat the patriots. no way.

Congrats.... Let me know what you think of Frankford plating when you get the parts back. Im currently having some parts for my 57 Chevy plated by a guy called Polished Treasures. The first parts to come back were beautiful but also pricey.
