I am putting my new fuel tank in my 18 Outrage and have a question about the brass/bronze pipe used in the fuel line...can anyone tell me why Whaler used this metal pipe in their fuel line...the feed line from the tank goes in one side and the other end feeds the fuel filter mounted to the transom well...also if someone can tell me how it was mounted I would approeciate it...I forgot to take a picture before I took it off...thanks

I know the older Outrages used hard pipe for that stretch of fuel supply line.

The later Outrages used hose. I think it would be better to use hose to get from the top of the tank outlet to the fuel line nipple at the deck level. I am sure others will weigh in with their ideas as well.

When whaler ran for the 18's the way the line ran was the fuel line would come up from the floor, over the splashwell, then run to the motor. I believe that they put this manifold in-line because they were worried about the file line collapsing on itself where it went over the splashwell.

The manifold was put there on the Outrage 18's for twin engines...
The Outrage 20's and above, had 2 fuel outlet connections at the tank.

I took mine off as I have both my engines connected to the 2 outlets of the fuel/water separator.
This manifold is NOT needed and just creates more connections where fuel could leak or draw air into the system.
