They're starting their run up the Hudson now. I know this not because I caught any last Wed. when I took the day off and fished for 6 hours, but because everyone else in the world seems to be catching them according to the striped bass fishing reports at www.hrfanj.org
So far they seem to be in the Tappen Zee area, from Piermont to Croton. I'm going to try again later today, Sun. 4/3. I really need one! Just one, is that too much to ask?:D

Speedo,
What is the water temperature there on the Hudson? It is 36.5 still here in midcoast Maine.

According to the reports on that website I listed, they say it's about 40 F.
I'm going out soon to catch the incoming high tide, will report on my luck later. My yacht club (sounds fancier than it is) is not open yet, so I'll be fishing from the shore near Croton Point.

Sad to report my fishing record is still intact, no fish. The only thing I may have caught however is a mild cold from fishing several hours in the rain.
Next time I know I'm going to clobber them! (Yeah right!):(

I can't wait till they get up to the Saco River in Maine The hogs hold there early on (hopefully by the end of the Month) on their way up to The Kennebec, Androscogan (sp?) and other spots up north.

Stripers are all the way up to the Holyoke Massachusetts Dam on the Connecticut River. Mostly small schoolie's with a few keepers in the mix right now. By next week the place should be full of keepers. They follow the herring and shad run.

MW, got 5 stripers this AM, when the sun came up it was all done ! From 1st light till sunup they hit Atoms poppers 1/2 oz. yellow head red body,my secret weapon ! Small Bluefish mixed in biggest Bass 36inches a 34 and 3 at 25-28. Next week all we'll put in the water will be BIG, BIG baits, the showing of these fish mark the arrival of the Cows. Plugs like Pikies and large wood swimmers have always seemed to be best, all action is close to shore in the rocks, best in the dark. Friends have been seeing Weakfish in the dark on Redfins.

Are you in the Connecticut River or the shore? Thinking about making my first trip to the shore soon !!! Eggman
1983 V-20 Outrage just bought in March from a gent in Bristol RI. This is going to be my Dive / Fishing machine. I've always wanted a whaler since I was a teenager and now pushing 40 I finally have one. I'll be going in the Connecticut River in Mass tommorrow looking for cows.

Stripers are in the lower Potomac river and my boat is still in the driveway. I hope the boat is still in the driveway, with all the rain it could have floated down to the water.

Kamie, Im down this morning and this place took a major hit in the last storm. Some people had there screened porches blown out, damage varies all over. I lost a dock post, one I had layed down next to the dock, and the dock box floated away, never to be seen again. Water is dark Choclate color from run off. Storm surge was huge down here and high tides are huge still.
If you boats not in the drive way, you wont have to launch her if shes already in:)
MY new lift cables are in, they look nice , Ill play with the lift tomorrow .
I'm sure your boats fine, but your not catching any stripers in all that choclate water for a good while...Henry
