I own a 1968 17 footer that is a fantastic shape, solid floor, original shining gel coat, no bottom paint. Heck, it even has the original Fisher-Pierce placard in the back. My problem is I had intended to turn it into a Nauset (it's a Currituck now) but the fellow I had originally found to build the interior cannot complete the transaction. Any ideas you folks might have would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Actually, I was hoping someone would know where I might find a good used one or perhaps a place where I might have one built. Thanks

There's also a cabinet maker from NY on this board who's name escapes me, hope he sees this thread.

The drawings are here:

Ceder Lake Manufacturing builds remade consoles for the Nauset. They do great work but take time.

Check with Cedar Lake. They have been know to be slow but everyone that has had work done has been happy at least recently.

Lennell,

Dan was the other source I was thinking of. You know you can purchase a full production set of drawings here.

BTW What was Cedar lake charging for a console and RPS? I ask because my father in-law is a great wood worker and is always looking for things to build. I have been on him to start reproducing whaler teak and mahogany parts. Being a school teacher he has a lot of free time in the summer and with a good set of drawings might be willing to do a console. He is currently building a beautiful crib for my wife and I for our first child (baby boy).

Jeff, the entire console including attached front seat and windshield frame unvarnished was about $1700.

lennell,

Are you still interested in a console and if so when so you need it?

I still need one Jeff. I am in no hurry because it is snowing in Chicago right now. Makes it kind of hard to think about boating! May or june would be just fine.
