Hello,
I have found out that my 13 is from the mid sixties. I have a couple of questions. Was it common to have metal brackets on the corners of the transom??
My transom has been sandwiched at the corners with two brackets that are thru bolted. Is this a factory thing or custom???
Any advise would be great.
Thank You

That should not be factory. Most likely a repair or attempt to hold a weak transom together.

It would help if you post some pictures of the damage so we can help assess whats going on.

No pics necessary, I have done 3 refits, and I assure you this is trash. I will be using Nida-Bond, to fill transom. I have had very positive results in the past. I will gut the transom of foam, and wood, and replace with the fill. will keep you posted!
