Hello, 13’ 1964 Whaler Sport. I’m in the process of replacing my wood kit on my whaler. Does anyone know where to find the rubber wheel inserts on the risers? Can they be left off of the new build? I’m cutting some new risers myself and I’m not sure where to find them or if they’re really needed. I know what they’re for but if I can’t find them I’ll probably just bungee the front one down and figure something out for the rear bench seat but if they’re readily available I’ll probably cut a hole for them and install them. Thanks

Need to see a photo of the trailer to give you targeted advice.

Thanks but I’m not talk about the trailer risers. I’m talking about the mahogany wood on the interior of the 13’ Whaler. It has 2 risers/seat clamps that hold the thwart bench seats in place. The factory ones had small rubber wheels or plugs that held the bench seats in place and stopped them from vibrating. The front seat is also removable and it helped hold it in place.

Any hardware store would have them.

In my previously-owned 1966 13-foot Sport, what was there looked possibly home-made. They were rubber disks about 5/8" diameter and 3/16" thick. They were housed in a mortised slot, retained with a brass pin through the center. The closest equivalent that I can find at McMaster-Carr (a great source of obscure hardware) is "cushioning washers." I think they are a great way to retain the thwart seats, and should be replicated.

Thanks Tom. I’ll check McMaster Carr to see what I can find.
