Hello all,
The freshwater sprayer on my 2018 dauntless 240 was working fine, but I was getting a few black particles coming out, I assume due to algae growing in stale water. So I ran it until the tank was empty, and refilled the tank with clean water. Now the pump runs, I can hear it, but no water comes out. Zero flow. Maybe an inlet filter got clogged? Should I try to access that pump and clean it, and if so, how do I do that?
Thanks!

Generally, the pump is installed on the freshwater tank outlet. You may find the cost for a new pump, which would eliminate the need to clean the existing pump, is a more attractive option.
Simply running the pump until the tank is empty will not eliminate any algae or trash in the tank, pump, line or sprayer. It may be necessary to add some type of cleaner to the tank to get the system clean.

Looking at the manual now -- your water holding tank is in the bottom of the console, towards the bow, but the pump itself is at the transom. If you ran the tank dry, it's possible you may have to prime the line since it goes from the pump all the way to the tank. There should be a filter right next to the pump and I would clean that out to be safe. I had a similar setup on my 210 MTK. Or .... you might want to disconnect the line at the pump, go back to the deck plate and keep adding water until it comes out the end at the end you disconnected from the pump, then re-connect. Then your line is full.

So, here's some useful details that are nowhere in the manual. The manual shows the freshwater pump is SOMEWHERE on the transom, but doesn't tell you where. It's on the PORT side, just forward of main battery. Again this applies to 2018 Dauntless 240. The pump is a JABSCO PAR MAX 2.9. I removed the inlet filter and washed out a layer of black scum. After that I got one quick spurt of freshwater from the sprayer, nothing further. I can hear the pump running when I switch it on. The freshwater tank is full and the inlet filter clearly has water supply because it spurts when removed. So I guess the pump itself is clogged or broken. I haven't screwed up my courage to remove the pump because it's a bit hard to access while lying on the deck.

Ok, maybe try this. Turn off the pump, and remove the line that goes from the outlet of the pump to the sprayer. Then turn on the pump briefly and see if you get any output from the pump. That would rule out a clog in the sprayer or the hose from the pump to the sprayer. Is that a self-priming pump?
