Hi all,

Just put this 1976 17 Montauk in today with a 1990’s Yamaha 90HP 2 Stroke.

The engine is all the way trimmed up. The last few inches of it are in the water. Is it possible the engine is mounted too low? On the other hand, I have 2 batteries, 12+ gallons of fuel below the seat, and not much weight at the front. Is this a common issue? My theoretical solutions include getting something heavy and putting it at the bow while not in use.

Thanks!

What hole is the motor mounted in now?

You may need to drill new holes so you can raise it for 2 holes up.
