I have always been interested in the old banana hulls. We called them tennis shoes growing up. What's the deal with the ribbed ones. I dont think i ever saw one ribbed I think they were smooth. Were there two differnt style of bannanas? Was the banana a differnet style cap on a hull used for other models?

i own a 71 outrage with the ribbed hull . I belive boston whaler only made the ribbed sides for one or two years because of the increased production cost.

I also own Ribbed Outrages, their production stopped and changed to the smooth sided ones for the 1973 year model as the ribbed version proved difficult to remove from the mold.
