Hey I am trying to install a rail onto my whaler so I can slide the bimini all the way to the back of my boat when I'm not using it. As currently it sits 1/2 way between my leaning post and the stern and is in the way when trying to fish. Is there anything I should do to help hold the slide rail onto the rail of the boat?

Why not mount it in front using sliders?

This is completely out of the inside of the boat and out of the way.

I've never thought of that. I had to take the bimini to off due to getting ripped out when my boat got caught under a dock by the boat ramp due to someone flying by. Is there still something you would do to reinforce it when putting it back on?
