I have a 1986 center console 15' whaler. Came w/the wood but not installed, I finished the interior and used the holes already there for the cooler cleats.I put them in w/the cleats (hooks?) Facing each other but such odd dimensions,..22"×12". Can't find any cooler to fit. Silly question I guess but, could they be backwards? My 1st whaler also.

Are they angled or are they straight. Do you have pictures.

They are angled, sorry for the delay in reply. I sent a pic as an attachment on original post but didn't go.

Look at a Igloo 56qt measurements and make a cardboard template and place on the floor.

If the cleats are angled like the Classic Montauk 17', then the cooler sits on top of the cleats.
