Wanting to install bilge pump on 1966 16' Custom. Would like to drill whole in upper transom area to run drain line, would this cause any integrity issues with transom. Any advise appreciated. Thanks

Well I believe your 1966 to be a 16' of course, but as far as the hole I don't believe it would create an issue if done properly.
I would install a tube and make sure it is sealed properly so as not to allow any water to leak inside the transom wall itself.

Run the tube up with the steering cable and run it over the transom. No need for a hole.

You do not want to cut a 1-2" hole through the transom, ever.
Just have the bilge hose follow the steering cable then add a 90 degree fitting, add a short stub to tube to clear the transom top.
