What would you recommend for a bilge pump for my 17 foot 1995 Outrage? I am
working on fixing it up.

I just replaced my bilge pump in my 1992 Outrage 17.
I went with a 800 gallon Rule with a separate float switch. Bigger is better. The pump is on the floor of the sump but the float is up to the right on the flat floor.
The hose goes through one of the rigging ports into the splashwell.

thank you for the tip. We just got this boat recently and are in the process of checking it out. We have an aluminum 14' Starcraft. This 17 outrage whaler is a much more boat. Do you have your boat on a mooring, how heavy of an anchor do you use.

I ran a 1991 model in Maine and New England for 8 years.
I bought a 1992 and am just finishing a restoration/repower.
I equipped the 1991 with a 11 lb Lewmar claw with 6' of chain and (2) 100' coils of rode. Worked in all types of bottoms. While a bit overkill, never let go.

We had a mooring as well, used a 150 lb mushroom with chain.

Thank you for the link, I will start. shopping for mushroom. I got a 90 HP Suzuki and will use it on a cove in cape cod , high tide only 10 feet, I will stay in the cove not adventure in the ocean. I have a lot to learn, thankfully the whaler community is very friendly and supportive here. Thank for all your help.
