Good morning guys.
I have a 1998 150 OR Johnson that needs a new power pack. The install looks pretty straightforward for a newbee wrench like me.
Has anyone installed a powerpack in this group? Any helpful hints or advice?
Thanks in advance.

I just did one on an early 90's 225 Evinrude. For my model the flywheel had to come off for proper clearance which requires the use of a puller. Other than that - make sure you get all the connections right. Take your time and label things. Mine was a bit of a bear to get all the wires back inside so the unit would fit flush. In all it really isnt hard, just take your time and don't take shortcuts.

One more thing - On my model the regulator was also under all that mess. It made sense to replace it at the same time. Just something to think about. It may be different on yours as yours is newer.

No problem. It also helps to have a factory service manual for your motor. Not a Clymer or Haines one but the actual Evinrude factory one. I found mine on ebay and its been really helpful.
