Have a new 200 Suzuki getting ready to bolt on to my 1998 20’ Outrage. The old evinrude was mounted one hole from the engine being in the lowest position. Dealer wants to mount the Suzuki in the highest position based on his experience with these hulls. I haven’t had any concern with where the evinrude was mounted. Boat ran great. What do you guys think? Thanks

I will presume your bolt holes follow the BIA standard.
The recommended engine height depends on your typical load, water type, kinds of activities and the prop you select.
The good news is you can lower (or raise) the engine after the fact yourself using your trailer.
I think you should start at 2 holes up. This means top bolt is on the 3rd hole down from the top. This presumes you do not have a setback bracket installed.

Thanks for the reply. The motor will be mounted directly to the transom. I would like to set the boat up for all around performance. I use the boat in the ocean for fishing and pulling kids on tubes around the bay. I’m not afraid of having to raise/lower after the instal but I a would like to get it close first shot. Recommended prop is the Suzuki 3x16x21P. Thanks
