Fellow Whalers,

Looking for confirmation on steering cable PNs and want to provide reference for others in the future. only info found so far:

Can anyone confirm??? no part numbers on my cable are visible and I have not pulled the existing cable yet.

88C6718 teleflex ≈ 18' rotary cable.

This fit perfect.

motor does NOT need to be removed to install and takes about 1-2 hours for cable and helm replacement.

Thanks for sharing this info.

You are correct, it is practical to leave the engine on and just loosen it so that you can angle it off the transom enough to remove the cable.

Many owners also select the Safe-T-II kit with 3 turns, lock-to-lock.
