I have the opportunity to purchase a left over 2006 4 stroke Mercury 8HP for a give away price. My intention for its use is only to add to the boats safety.Any experience with the addition of a kicker to these older classics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm going to use a 9.9 johnson on my 21' and will be using the proper sailboat prop(too many people try to use a small boat prop which is wrong). That 8hp with the right prop should be plenty of power for kicker useage. Do you already have the right kicker bracker for that hull? I have one and have thought of getting one made out of stainless, maybe we can get them cheaper for two of them?
