Joe for starters I'll take one! - even though she is not a Whaler she is a beauty!

The name Garwood on the side is that of a wood boat manufacturer. The made boats in the 20's, 30's and 40's - it also says new.

Here is a link to their historical site.

Here is the link to the new models they build.

That IS a remade Garwood. Beautiful boats. Around Northern Michigan we have VanDam Woodcraft who have made a couple similar boat designs and lots of other custom boats.

I've been around boats all my life and I truthfully say that this is the most magnificent boat I have ever seen. Every thing about it was spectacular from the wood to the interior. You could actually use the wood surface as a mirror. Can't imagine what the engine compartment looked like. I wanted to find out more about it, but the owner was not around. Can't imagine the price either! :(

Any relation to the Garwood mansion in Detroit that burned down in the 70s.
We used to go there at night just to scare the hell out ourselves. :o

Edit, I did some research and Gar Wood was a speed boat racer in the thirtys. He had a mansion built on the Detroit river. What a wild place that was.
