I have a 1986 super sport limited whaler with a 2 stroke Yamaha 70 hp. Can I put a newer 4 stroke 70 to 90 hp on the boat or will that be too heavy?

Yes you can. No it will not.

You may want to shift the fuel tank and battery forward to help improve static trim.

To get a feel of the new engine weight, calculate the difference, add to the spashwell.

Remember to include your full model in your post 1986 XX Super Sport Limited

Too much power for a Super Sport Limited 13'

The Yamaha F70 would be a great choice for either the Super Sport Limited 15'

and a good choice for the Super Sport Limited 17'

The Yamaha F70 weighs in at 253 pounds which is excellent on any of the 15', 16', or 17' models.
