I will be re-powering this coming Summer after some mods on a new purchase to me. Has anyone re-powered with a single 350 Suzuki, and if so, how was the performance? Boat is rated 300-600 hp. Will rig with twins if necessary but was hoping to keep as a single if possible.
Any input would be appreciated.

I would strongly reconsider the single option.

Maneuvering a boat that beamy and heavy will be very challenging.

I would do twin 250-300's, you can never have enough power.

Thanks for the replies. Really what I expected to hear and what I had figured when I chose to purchase. This will be my ultimate boat in the Chesapeake and plan to have for a long time, so investing in twins will be the smartest option. I have always powered on the upper end of max hp but wanted to see if there was something I was missing.

My 300 Yamaha has performed better than expected. Twins on that boat would be amazing!

Look around for a slightly used set. Many people in FL repower shortly after buying a boat and now want max hp. Take a look at craigslist or boat trader in FL, will be worth the ride.
