Hi,

I have an old 1989 Mercury 90 HP with an Quicksilver controll box.
The Engine was running fine before I removed it from the boat.
I repainted the engine, changed gear oil, new spark plugs, new fuelfilter and so on.
I conected the quicksilver conroll box to the angine and tried to start it after service. It wont start.
I checked it and there is no spark.
There is a White cable with black stripe on the quicksilver box. Do I need to connect this cable somewhere?
I found in the attached file that this cable is for Bias Circuit.

Doas anybody have an idea? Maybe I forgot to cennect a cable? THe engine was running fine until I removed it from the boat.

Hi,

I probably found the problem. Does anyone know at what angle the quicksilver switch shuts off the ignition?
The engine is now mounted on a engine stand. I think the angle is too much.

Regards Christoph

I think you can disconnect the mercury switch. Make sure it is in neutral and that switch is connected as well.
