Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: 1985 Outrage 18 Control Cable Length

First time on this site and would like some information.

I'm repowering my 1985 18 outrage with a 2015 Mercury 150 [FourStroke] and would like to know what i need to purchase for a control cable length and what prop would work best on this boat. Switching from a 2004 yamaha 2 stroke.

Welcome to WC and congratulations.

The existing cable should have the model # stamped on the end of the sleeve. The last 2 digits indicate length.

Steering cables for single engine install is 18'

Prop recommendations by members for the Outrage 18 and the Mercury 150 Fourstroke include:

14" x 19" Mercury Enertia / Quicksilver Q3
14-1/4" x 19" Turbo 1

Thanks for the information i'll check for the marking tomorrow when i remove the Yamaha.
