Thought I’d share some information for those considering to repower the 20 outrage.
I bought the hull with a 1996 200hp evinrude 3 years ago, Solid motor with no issues, it just burned way to much fuel. At the end of last season I was offered a deal on a 2017 200 Suzuki that I couldn’t pass up and made the purchase. Soon after, I made the decision to pull the deck up and replace the fuel tank(yes it was a long winter). I went from the original 77 gallon tank to a smaller 60 gallon tank being that the new motor will be more efficient. I removed all the foam, replaced all the wires and changed the fuel lines.
This week I finally put the boat in and did some testing and it’s been awesome. Previous numbers with the old two stroke were around 4000 rpm cruise 22-23 knots burning around 1.4 mpg (give or take with a load). The new Suzuki with a slow cruise 4200 is around 26 knots burning 3.2 mpg 4600 faster cruise 29 knots burning 2.9 mpg. Wot went from 34 knots to 39 knots.
These are great improvements but I’m going to be moving the motor up a notch and play with some different props to see if I can really get a little more speed and fuel economy. Overall I have been very happy.

You didn't tell us where the motor is mounted now so we have a reference.
