This is a good long story but I will save it get down to this important business for now. I am a life long Boston Whaler die hard and owner, These Boats are so good that I have just spent a lifetime boating without hardly any trouble or reason to ask many questions. Living on the Gulf Coast Hurricanes have chased me from Florida to Alabama and now live in Ocean Springs Missippi. I bought a Boston Whaler Around 10 Years ago from a guy in Destin Florida and it has been sitting in Fairhope Al at a friends Junkyard until I decided to rescue it a couple of weeks ago. I have plans to fix it up again but over the years had all my original paperwork destroyed and could use some help Identifying what exactly I have. I have taken many pictures and believe I can get the Hul ID Somehow, so Far a few phone calls to Florida Has not proven helpful? I am hoping someone here had been through a similar situation and could provide some advice? Thanks in advance Now sure of the Year of the Boat? I have pictures to share but it looks like the serial number tag is broken, Is there a second location? Looks like My photos are too big I will figure this out and try to post photos later but this is what I have so far
; Metal Plate on outside Transom 3662M84D
; Under the Metal Plate a broken plastic tag EW-140 ??????
; Stenciled inside of the transom 2C8998
; Manufacture Plate inside 13'4" Sport Boston Whaler INC Rockland, Mass

Based on the other members boat information your full Hull Identification Number should be:

BWCK3662M84D

The last 3 digits means your boat was manufactured in April "D" of 1984. Lots of information on this site about de-coding Boston Whalers Stencil and HIN's.

I don't know what the "EW-140" plastic tag could be. Boston Whaler changed their HIN numbering scheme shortly after your boat was made so maybe they were trying something new that didn't work so they put the metal tag over the plastic one? My 1986 15' SS has a metal HIN tag inside the bow locker in addition to the transom but I don't know if they installed duplicate HIN tags for the 1984 13' models.

Sorted member information around your same manufactured time for 13' hulls:

BartWhaler, have been a very long time Whaler Fan, have my third which is a 25 outrage with whaler drive, after two 22 outrages, and their great boats, I would own no other. Fun to operate and to work on, its a labor of love. Just retired, moving to N.C. and hope to establish some Whaler friends as we did years ago in Corpus Christi tx. Been gone along time from being active on Whaler Central for various personal reasons, but back and hope to get in the groove again!

Sounds like we have a lot in common Duf , Looking forward to meeting and interacting with like-minded Whaler owners. Sometimes I have trouble with the technical side of the forum but I will eventually get the hang of it and be able to post up some pictures and share some more information, thanks for reaching out!

I am on my 24th Whaler so far and I am not 50 yet. I have a good Whaler story from Ambergris Caye during Hurricane Keith? in 2000 or so.
