Are you interested in doing day outings with other whaler owners?

There is a group of whaler owners in the Northern MA, coastal NH, and Southern Maine area that do get togethers and we are looking for more members.

Over the years we have done:

Piscatisqua River
Lake Winnipesaukee
Isle of Shoals
Merrimack River
York River

Regardless of where you live, if you are interesting in getting information on these trips, please let me know.

There is no requirement to boat size, year as long as it is a whaler.

Thanks

Islander

Even though I am new to whalers

I would be interested in getting together...especially if it includes Lake Winnipesaukee...as I have a summer place in Paugus Bay

BTW ...I may be going to Yarmouth soon to pick up some whaler stuff. Maybe we can get together for some coffee and you can tell me more about the get togethers

Keep me posted
Ed

I am currently collecting parts for my trailer rebuild. My family has a house on the Piscatisqua, and I have a sister in Exeter on the Great Bay. This summer will see very little of me on the job as I have secured 4 day weekends for the summer per my crews request.

Sure, count me in. I administer Smuttynose Island, one of the Isles of Shoals, and we can access it any time...summer OR winter! --Laury

Thanks.

Hey Laury, You must know my good friend Ross...he manages the marine lab on Appledore and Creek Farm. Does Smuttynose have any spot to beach a boat?

ricochet001 - I typically launch at Cashman's or up River at the Amesbury town ramp. Look for a 25-Revenge on the River this year...that's me!

Are you guys talking about the Piscataqua River between NH and Maine or is there a Piscatisqua River that I'm not aware of?

Mass member here with relatives in York Me. I'd like to stay in touch. Fixed up a 1967 Eastport over the last two years and would like to be able to explore some new areas with a knowledgable group.

Phil,

We are sorry we have missed the last few years of rendezvous'. This year Judy and I hope to attend one of your seacoast trips and we will once again organize a day on Lake Winnipesaukee.

The Montauk is still going strong. The grandsons love tubing and fishing off her.

Don't dispair with all the snow...spring will be here soon!

Gents--

In the past I have tried to get folks together up on Lake Sunapee, NH but perhaps this could be the year for that as well.

Where is the schedule at now for the coming months' events?

I would still like to make a gathering at Sunapee happen. Any takers?

Best,

Brant Fagan

I live in Portland and go to Sebago and the surrounding lakes all the time. It's a beautiful area. We should try to set one up on Sebago. It's a nice big lake with plenty of space to cruise around and lots of great spots to beach up (the spit or the sandbar) or raft up.

Otherwise, Casco Bay in Portland is awesome too. There are tons of little islands for day trips, eating lunch/cooking out and camping etc. Some even have little sandy beaches you can have all to yourselves.

Anyone else from Portland area?

Sounds great. I have to be honest my whaler has never seen any other body of water other than Sebago Lake if you can imagine that!

I am dedicating some time this summer to replacing my trailer wheels, wheel bearings, and electrics. I am thinking of doing a bit of work on it next winter as far as refurbishing and replacing some different things, the big one being the engine!

However, once I have got that trailer ready, a trip to Portland might be possible! Until then if we arranged a Sebago meet I think it would be great!

All the Best, Glenn

I live on the North Shore of Massachusetts and would be interested in getting together and striper fishing with any other owners. After being Whalerless for six months and selling my 1987 18' Outrage for a Pursuit, I convinced my dad and now have a 1989 13' SuperSport.

Hi, Zach. I'm on the North Shore as well. Not much of a fisherman (yet) but maybe I'll see you out on the water one of these days. I spend most of my time in the Beverly/Salem/Marblehead area. I've seen a couple 16' dual consoles, but as far as I know I'm the only 18 Ventura in these parts.
