i just picked up a 19' outrage from kentucky. i don't think it has been in salt water or open water. it has twin 100 johnson jafflens 1979 they run and it flys out the hole, but they are heavy and i want to repower but the coast guard plate is worn and i can't read it. what is she rated for and should i go with a 4or2 stroke? what is up with the new 2 strokes do they get better gas milage then the 4 stroke. i fish in southeast la. so the environment does'nt come in to play. we toss it all overboard.
and we are washing away anyway. thanks, anthony

4 strokes are heavier than 2 strokes. Since you are worried about weight, I would think a 2 stroke is a better choice.
E-tec 2 strokes get as good of gas milage as 4 strokes. And they smell as nice as 4 stokes. :D
